Minister for education Nara Lokesh, assured full cooperation from the state government to Google Cloud for establishing the Data City in the port city of Visakhapatnam. Google Cloud’s Managing Director Bikram Singh, Country Director (Public Sector and EdTech) Asish, and their team met Lokesh in New Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the project. Lokesh informed them that the AP Economic Development Board is actively working to clear the necessary approvals, including land allocation.
Urging Google Cloud executives to expedite the process, Lokesh emphasised that the Data City would transform Visakhapatnam, fostering an ecosystem for start-ups and the development of world-class Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. Bikram Singh appreciated the state government’s efforts towards digital transformation and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to accelerate the project.
