    AP Govt Reviews Progress of Renewable Energy Projects: Gottipati Ravi Kumar

    •    CBG plants are coming up in Prakasam, Nellore, and Palnadu districts in first phase

    Vijayawada, September 3: Hon’ble Minister for Energy, Sri Gottipati Ravi Kumar directed Axis Energy and Suzlon to expedite grounding of their allotted capacities in alignment with CTUIL timelines, ensure maximum local employment during construction and operation, and expand skill development initiatives to train local youth.  He also advised the companies to adhere to execution milestones, extend community development and CSR activities in project areas, and maintain transparency in implementation so as to strengthen investor confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy sector. 

    The Hon’ble Minister for Energy, Sri Gottipati Ravi Kumar along with the Chief Secretary, Sri K. Vijayanand reviewed the progress of renewable energy projects, being implemented by Axis Energy and Suzlon Energy and Compressed Bio Gas projects by Reliance at AP Secretariat. 

    The Hon’ble Minister for Energy appreciated the progress made by Axis Energy and Suzlon companies towards execution of renewable energy projects in the State and assured all necessary support from the Government to ensure quick grounding of projects, timely commissioning, and local employment generation, which remains a core policy of the State and the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu. He instructed NREDCAP and other concerned departments to provide single-window facilitation for land, evacuation, and approvals

    Representatives from Axis Energy said that through its joint venture platform with Brookfield—Evren, Axis Energy has grounded renewable energy projects of 3,000 MW capacity in Andhra Pradesh. The company has made significant progress in land acquisition, evacuation and signing of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the entire 3 GW capacity. Axis Energy has aligned its execution timelines with upcoming CTUIL substations and presented an implementation roadmap for the balance allotted capacities. With an investment of over ₹30,500 crore already in motion, Axis Energy has committed for creation of 3,500 jobs in Andhra Pradesh and reaffirmed its commitment to the State’s renewable energy vision, said Axis officials.

    Representatives from Suzlon Energy said that Suzlon has restarted and upgraded its manufacturing facility at Kuderu, Anantapur, for higher capacity turbines of 3.15 MW. The facility currently provides firm employment to 1,200 people, with plans to generate an additional 500 jobs every year. Suzlon has commissioned projects for leading customers such as ReNew, GreenKo, JSW, IOCL, and have now secured clear orders for around 1900MW from reputed clients like Brookfield, Tata Power,Hexa climate,RPSG group,Integrum Energy , Sunsure energy and presented clear project execution timelines. Under the Project Implementation Agreement with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Suzlon is progressing towards developing 4,000 MW of renewable energy projects. So far, 1,375 MW have been commissioned, attracting investments of about ₹12,000 crore. The company has also launched India’s largest Green Skill Development Program in Andhra Pradesh to create a skilled workforce for the renewable energy industry, said suzlon officials

    Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants by Reliance: 

    During the meeting with Reliance, the Hon’ble Minister for Energy said that CBG plants are coming up in Prakasam, Nellore, and Palnadu districts in the first phase followed by expansion to Annamayya and Kadapa districts. 
    The Minister instructed Reliance to complete the construction of these plants within the stipulated timelines while maintaining strict quality standards. He noted that the CBG plants will provide employment opportunities to the youth and offer better lease value to farmers.
    The Hon’ble Minister added that under the guidance of Hon’ble IT and Industries Minister Sri Nara Lokesh, the State Government is working with the goal of creating 20 lakh employment opportunities.
     Reliance informed that through 500 CBG plants across the State, about 2.5 lakh jobs will be created. The company will pay a lease of ₹15,000 per acre for unused government land and ₹31,000 per acre for farmers’ land. Reliance has committed an investment of ₹65,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh’s CBG sector under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu. Senior officials of NREDCAP and representatives from Axis, Suzlon and Relaince companies participated in the review meeting.
