NDRF teams remain on high alert, a 24x7 control room

Reg low lying visit and meeting in c/w Montha  Cyclone 


✓ In wake of the forthcoming Cyclone MONTHA in the districts of Andhra Pradesh, IMD has predicted extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by a severe cyclonic storm over coastal regions of the state. Based on the requisition of APSDMA, 09 NDRF  teams have been pre-positioned in cyclone-prone districts of Andhra Pradesh as a precautionary measure.

✓ Accordingly, Sh. V.V.N. Prasanna Kumar, Commandant, attended a cyclone preparedness and review meeting chaired by Smt. Vangalapudi Anitha, Hon’ble Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh, along with APSDMA officials and other senior officers of the state government. Furthermore official personally  supervising/reviewing  on ground situation at Kakinada (AP) and interacted with local media,  shared role of NDRF during Pre-cyclone & Post cyclone. 

 ✓ Sh  Tangella Uday Srinivas, Member of Parliament & the local MLA of the Kakinada  also witnessed the awareness activities carried out by NDRF. 

✓ Team  commanders visited low-lying and vulnerable areas, conducted community awareness campaigns, and educated local residents on precautionary measures to be adopted before, during, and after the cyclone.

✓ Apart from this, team commanders attended cyclone preparedness meetings chaired by the respective District Collectors and District Magistrates. 

✓ Teams checked  rescue equipment, boats, and communication sets  and kept in operational readiness to respond to any emergency situation arising out of Cyclone MONTHA.


✓ NDRF teams  remain on high alert, a 24x7 control room is continuously monitoring the situation in coordination with APSDMA, RMC, CWC and local authorities, and are fully prepared to undertake rescue and relief operations in the event of any exigency caused by Cyclone MONTHA
